MUSIC, PUPPETS AND COMEDY — OH MY!

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND?

The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community

There is an event tonight that has a variety of entertainment styles for your viewing pleasure. Cookie Tongue will be headlining at the Price Center in a show sponsored by Roughhouse Brewing. Look the band up because it’s hard to describe, but I will say that the strings are dynamic. There are various instruments and vocals that come together in a beautiful cacophony of sound. And did I mention that there are puppets involved? Should be a show for the books! A $2 to $12 donation is suggested for entry, and the show starts at 7 p.m. Molly Hayes will be opening, and Jamal will be doing standup. Texas State is also hosting a jazz festival this weekend, and if you’re interested in watching the San Marcos High School Jazz Band perform, they will be on at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Evans Auditorium at TXST. For more information about the festival, see the article on the front page.
