Cenikor, a leading nonprofit behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment network, is thrilled to announce the third annual “Healing Hearts” Recovery Exhibition presented with the San Marcos Art League. The exhibition provides a platform for artists to share their recovery stories, foster community engagement and combat the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use disorder.
The “Healing Hearts” exhibition underscores the transformative power of art as a tool for personal expression and healing. Through a diverse collection of artworks, artists will convey their journeys of recovery and resilience, creating a safe, inclusive space for dialogue and understanding. The exhibition will be at the San Marcos Art Center, located at 117 Guadalupe Street, throughout February, and the opening reception will be held Feb. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Cenikor’s Project AIM invites the community to the opening reception on Feb. 7 to celebrate the artists and their incredible contributions to breaking down barriers surrounding mental health and SUDs. The public is also encouraged to visit the exhibition during the entire month of February to experience the power of art as part of the process of healing and recovering from addictions, trauma and mental health disorders – both those with lived experiences and those that provide support Project AIM is a free non-judgmental, non-confrontational program for adults ages 18 and up who want to make positive lifestyle changes. Participants receive education and information to make healthier choices, gain insight and increase coping and resiliency skills.
