The long-awaited KZSM San Marcos Music Awards are at 6 p.m. tonight, and I am stoked. In addition to watching everyone walk down the red carpet in their Sunday best, getting to see all the hardworking local musicians get the credit they deserve is also exciting. The real question is, what the heck am I going to wear? I’m definitely going to have to make an outlet stop. And for Saturday, Black History Month is kicking off, and the Calaboose African American History Museum is hosting a ton of interesting lectures throughout the month at the Cephas House, which is across the street from the museum. The first of which is on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. The topic is Being Black in San Marcos, and the discussion will be facilitated by Dwonna Goldstone, PhD. Check out the article on the front page to learn more about the other lectures.
