As the bard says, love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind. What a fitting sentiment as we enter Valentine’s season this February. To celebrate, Broke Thespian’s Theatre Company will present Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” opening tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Maurice T. Suttles VFW Post 3413, 1701 Hunter Rd. With typical BTTC flair, the play promises a fresh perspective on this classic tale about star-crossed lovers. Find tickets here brokethespianstheatrecompany.org/ shows/tickets and get ready to embrace the season of love. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will also play Feb. 1, Feb. 7 and Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 2 and Feb. 9 at 2 p.m.
On Sunday, we will continue our training for our Hike Into Mordor in New Zealand on March 1. Our next hiking destination is Inks Lake State Park, where two intermediate trails loop along the shores of the lake, promising pristine natural vistas and plenty of wildlife.
