Senior power forward Tylan Pope was named both the Sun Belt Player of the Week and the Lou Henson National Player of the Week following the Bobcats’ win over the Georgia State Panthers and Southern Miss Golden Eagles this past week.
This marks the first time Pope has won both the Sun Belt Player of the Week and Lou Henson National Player of the Week.
In Texas State’s game against Georgia State, Pope finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds to complete the double- double in the Bobcats 94-80 win over the Panthers.
Against Southern Miss, Pope continued his dominating run, scoring a career high 28 points and nabbing 12 rebounds for his second straight double- double in the Bobcats thrilling 85-82 win over the Golden Eagles.
The Bobcats will be on the road this week Thursday against Louisiana and Saturday against Arkansas State.
