SMHS BASKETBALL
Seniors Cash Good, Josiah Hollmon and Donovan Riddick were selected to play in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Game while senior Ezra Tobias was selected to play the San Antonio Sports All-Star Skills Challenge March 23 at Northside Gym in San Antonio.
The All-Star game selections were determined by a group composed of San Antonio sports reporters, writers and former coaches, choosing the best senior basketball players in the San Antonio area.
The criteria for the selections is based on “senior who has displayed excellent performance not just on the court but also among his or her peers and student body with high character and integrity.”
Tobias has averaged 9.2 points per game for the Lady Rattlers this season along with averaging 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.2 steals per game. With Tobias leading the offense at the point guard position, the Lady Rattlers currently sit in second place in District 29 with a chance to win their first district championship in over a decade.
The trio of Good, Hollmon and Riddick have created one of most offensive units in recent memory for the Rattlers with the seniors ability to score from everywhere on the court.
Riddick has averaged 19.8 points for the Rat- tlers along with averaging 7.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Good has averaged 16.8 points per game and 5.0 assists per game. Hollmon has averaged 14.8 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game.
The trio and the Rattlers will look to make a deep push towards making the postseason with San Marcos starting the second round of district play this week.
Both the Lady Rattlers and the Rattlers will continue their district schedule this Friday when San Marcos takes on Clemens. The Lady Rattlers will be at home against the Buffaloes while the Rattlers will be on the road at Clemens High School.
