Texas State University student Briar Leonard will showcase the solo exhibition “Woven Fractures.” The exhibition runs from Jan. 13 to Feb. 7 at the second floor Stairwell Gallery in the Joann Cole Mitte Building.
Leonard is a senior currently obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art, concentrating in sculpture.
The opening reception will take place on Jan. 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. This event will celebrate not only the exhibition but also Leonard’s recent recognition as the recipient of the Herman Casey Memorial Fund in Sculpture.
“Woven Fractures” explores the resiliency of the human psyche when faced with trauma. Leonard primarily works with steel and found soft materials. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
