United Way of Hays and Caldwell counties appoints Arredondo as CEO

United Way of Hays & Caldwell Counties announces the appointment of Juan Miguel Arredondo as President and CEO, effective Jan. 6. A dedicated leader with strong ties to the region, Arredondo brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to enhancing lives across Hays and Caldwell Counties.

“Miguel brings a unique combination of experience, vision, and passion for service,” said Lance Winter, Chairman of the UWHCC Board of Directors. “We are thrilled to welcome him as our new President and CEO. With Miguel at the helm, United Way is well-positioned to grow its impact and continue its critical work in the community.”

Arredondo’s connection to United Way’s mission is long-standing. From 2015 to 2019, he served on the UWHCC Board of Directors, advancing the organization’s initiatives and impact. Currently, Arredondo is a member of the San Marcos CISD Board of Trustees, where he has spent nine years championing public education, including past service as the Board’s Vice President. His professional background includes playing a pivotal role in developing policies that support Texas families and communities.

“United Way of Hays & Caldwell Counties is a cornerstone of our community, and I am honored to take on this role,” Arredondo said. “This organization’s work reflects the best of what we can achieve together — collaboration, action and measurable impact. I look forward to working with the board and our incredible partner agencies to create even greater opportunities for the people we serve.”

UWHCC collaborates with trusted local agencies to deliver 30 impactful programs benefiting Hays and Caldwell Counties residents. These initiatives are made possible through the generosity of local donors who contribute via payroll deductions and other fundraising efforts. Each program undergoes rigorous evaluation by UWHCC’s Funds Distribution Committee, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and a measurable return on investment.
