The Rattlers took 2nd place at the Hays Christmas Classic over the Christmas weekend.
In pool play, San Marcos took on both the Austin LBJ Jaguars and the Round Rock McNeil Mavericks.
The Rattlers took on the Jaguars in the first game of the tournament where San Marcos defeated LBJ 72-62.
Later in the day, San Marcos battled McNeil with a shot at winning the pool and advancing to the gold bracket of the tournament.
The Rattlers prevailed, beating the Mavericks 76-65 and advanced to the gold bracket.
In the semifinals of the gold bracket, San Marcos met the Austin Akins Eagles.
In a fierce battle, the Rattlers defeated Akins 51-49 and moved on to the championship game where San Marcos faced the Antonioan Prep Apaches.
Despite San Marcos’ best efforts, the Rattlers fell to Antonioan Prep 67-46.
During the tournament, senior point guard Cash Good surpassed 1,000 career points. Head Coach Dan Miller also reached a significant career milestone, winning his 100th game at San Marcos.
San Marcos will be back home Tuesday against the Davenport Wolves. Tipoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
