HAYS COUNTY
Hays County is excited to announce a key milestone in the development of the proposed Civic Center. The County has entered into a Preliminary Development Agreement with the selected developer, advancing the project.
Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe expressed her enthusiasm and said the county has worked with Casey Development Limited for over two years.
“This agreement is a major step forward,” Ingalsbe stated. “It allows us to refine the project and set clear parameters for design, construction, budgeting and maintenance. Casey Development has been a strong partner in creating a permanent space for community organizations. We will engage our community in shaping this vision, ensuring their voices are heard and creating a develop- ment that Hays County can be proud of.”
Judge Ruben Becerra called the agreement a “bold step” for the future of Hays County.
“It will be a dynamic space for events, conferences and community engagement, fostering economic growth and creating jobs,” Becerra said. “The project will enhance infrastructure and provide a hub for residents with benefits that will last for generations. We are committed to working with our community to ensure the final development meets their needs.”
The project began in 2022 when Hays County issued a solicitation for proposals for the Civic Center. In February 2023, the commissioners court awarded the solicitation to the developer, launching the planning process. Further updates on the project’s timeline and groundbreaking will be shared as available.
