WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND?
The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community
Who feels like burning calories this weekend before packing them on during the Thanksgiving holiday? The Bluebonnet Lions Club will be hosting a Thankful Turkey 5K and Kids Run at the First Baptist Church San Marcos. You can sign up at this link athleteguild.com/event/san-marcos- tx/2024-thankful-turkey-5k-kids-run/ signup?fbclid=IwY2xjawGsP15leHRuA2FlbQIx-MAABHS4jlY_L3FgGksOweFAo0IR3w4BqZU-j5c9l8aBNoU0o7_ MpvCd_JRZvrCA_aem_ K3BhN9UGjJKsUdnRac01Qg. Kids run for free, and it costs $38.44 for adults. First place winners in each age group take home a turkey. Second place takes home a ham, and there will be pie for the third place winners. On Sunday, I think I’ll take my boyfriend and his three-year-old son to the Classic Rides on El Camino Real event that is occurring on the square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. His favorite thing to play with are his car toys, so I’m thinking life sized versions will be a hit! There will also be veterans support services on site to help our local heroes.
