Gary Job Corps salutes Veterans with appreciation luncheon
Top left, Gary Job Corps Director Norman Turner (center) shares with local veterans an appreciation for their sacrifices in the cause of freedom. In addition to the many veterans that work at Gary Job Corps, many students also have prior military experience and are now learning new skills. During the Veterans Luncheon, participants shared a moment of silence for Gary Graduate PFC Kristian Menchaca who lost his life in Iraq. Gary Job Corps also extended a special thank you to Lori Ocegueda, retired Army, and the center’s human resources staff for planning and setup of the event. Pictured are Veterans from Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and one staff member who served in the Nigerian Army. Also pictured above is Command Sgt. Major Reggie Gilliam, retired Army, shown cutting the Veteran’s Celebration Cake. Special thanks to Veterans who have served and are serving in the United States. Photos submitted by Gary Job Corps
