The 2024 BFA Performance & Choreography Senior Showcase
Texas State University’s Division of Dance presents the End of the Beginning in Evans Auditorium from Nov. 14 through Nov. 16.
The Division of Dance presents the annual concert for graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance and Choreography seniors. This year’s concert, titled the End of the Beginning, showcases each artist’s creativity, intellectuality, and versatility upon completing this degree.
Under the artistic direction of Torens L. Johnson and Brandon I. Gonzalez, the End of the Beginning marks the conclusion of an initial phase, yet the journey or process is far from complete. The show’s title signifies progress while acknowledging there is still more ahead.
This dance concert includes contemporary stage works from the BFA performance and choreography senior candidates. Senior choreographers include Keyalana Bethel, Malik Boudoin, Christine de Kanter, Hannah Gray, Bailey Harris, Giovanna Macias, Sarah Paige, Jasmine Seegmiller, Alyssa Trilops and Melena West.
The production recognizes the chapter of life is drawing to a close, and the next segment of the journey is about to begin.
The End of the Beginning runs Nov. 14 through Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Auditorium. Tickets range from $10 to $15 for the performance, and streamed performances are available for $10; all can be purchased online at www.txstatepresents. com.
The Division of Dance presents the annual concert for graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance and Choreography seniors. The show will challenge the audience to listen, empathize, reflect, and take action after these artists pose deep, uncomfortable questions. Works will be presented in many mediums, from live stage performances to multimedia performances. With multidisciplinary art and technology advancement, these seniors have created, developed, and performed works highlighting their multifaceted skill set.
The Artistic Directors are Torens L. Johnson and Brandon I. Gonzalez. The Choreographers are Keyalana Bethel, Malik Boudoin, Christine de Kanter, Hannah Gray, Bailey Harris, Giovanna Macias, Sarah Paige, Jasmine Seegmiller, Alyssa Trilops and Melena West.
The End of the Beginning runs Nov. 14 through Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Auditorium. Tickets range from $10 (Texas State students and faculty) to $15 for the performance, and streamed performances are available for $10; all can be purchased online at txstatepresents.com. Performances will take place at Evans Auditorium, located at 627 North LBJ Drive.
Special Event Parking for Evans Auditorium is available in the Pleasant Street Parking Garage (101 Pleasant Street). A parking pass can be purchased for $5.00 at the Pay-To-Park Kiosks. On Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a talkback with choreographers. There will also be performances Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
