BACK TO THE 1940S TO HONOR VETERANS

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND?

The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community

Take a step back in time with the Commemorative Air Force as they are hosting the Veteran’s Day Dinner Dance on Saturday, Nov. 9. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1940s period attire, both civilian and military dress is encouraged. There will be a costume contest for the best period dress attire. The dinner is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with swing dancing lessons available. Then the real dancing starts to authentic 40s music from the Sentimental Journey Orchestra. Show up early and get a close up look at the WWII aircraft outside the hanger. General admission tickets are still available for $85 each, which includes the dinner and complimentary beer and wine. There are still a few premium tables available for purchase as well. More information can be found at centraltexaswing. org/events.
