Academy bounces back in win against Lutheran

PRIVATE SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Academy snapped a three-game losing streak, beating the San Antonio Lutheran Mustangs 6418.

The Bears improved their record to 3-6 overall and their district record to 1-1.

Senior Cash Miller led the way for the Bears with 100 yards passing and four touchdowns.

Miller also ran for 56 yards on six carries and one touchdown.

In the air, junior Daniel Yates led the team in receiving with two catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Yates also led the team in rushing with three carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

Academy will close out the regular season at home against the Bulverde Bracken Christian Warriors.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday night.

HILL COUNTRY FALLS TO HERITAGE Hill Country Christian fell to the Fredericksburg Heritage Eagles in a 60-0 loss for the Rams.

Hill Country fell to 3-5 overall.

The Rams will close out the regular season on the road against Kerrville Lady of Our Hills.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday.
