PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Early voting closed Friday, and 55.76%, or 103,988 people, of the 186,492 registered voters in Hays County have already cast their vote.
Of the early voters, 99,840 voted in person. There were 1,857 that voted by mail. There were 180 Federal Post Card Applications, which according to the website is a way to ensure that “Service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens are aware of their right to vote and have the tools and resources to successfully do so – from anywhere in the world.” There were 1,598 early voters with a limited ballot and 513 with a provisional ballot.
During the presidential election that occurred in 2020, there were 109,963 registered voters in Hays County, which is 76,529 less registered voters than in the current election. The 2020 election had 85,928 early Hays County voters and 12,454 Hays County absentee voters for a total of 98,382 voters. That is only 5,606 less voters than occurred other than election day in the current election. There were 11,013 people who voted on Election Day in Hays County in 2020.
