Bobcat athletes Samantha Wunsch and Katelyn Chrisman were named Sun Belt Players of the Week in their respective sports.
Wunsch was named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week in volleyball following her performance against the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks.
In the Bobcats’ first game against ULM, Wunsch finished with a team high 19 kills and an attacking percentage of .368. The Bobcats defeated the Warhawks 3-1.
Wunsch followed up Friday’s performance with another spectacular outing. The sophomore outside hitter led the team in kills with 18 along with an attacking percentage of .630.
Texas State returns home this weekend for a twogame series against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
Chrisman was named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week in soccer following her performance against both South Alabama and App State.
Chrisman allowed zero goals in the Bobcats game against South Alabama when the Bobcats tied the Jaguars 0-0 and finished the game with two saves. The shutout was just the second time Texas State kept South Alabama off the scoreboard since the two teams started playing.
Chrisman followed up with another shutout performance against the App State Mountaineers in the Bobcats 1-0 win. The senior goalkeeper once again had two saves for the Bobcats.
Texas State closes out the regular season tonight against the Georgia Southern Eagles.
