CHECK OUT A MURAL THEN RIDE THROUGH HELL

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND?

The San Marcos Daily Record staff gives recommendations on what to do in our community

This weekend is full of fun for an arts and entertainment lover like myself. At 6 p.m. tonight, the city of San Marcos will be hosting the dedication of the new mural, Flowing Through San Marcos, at Thirsty Planet. Both the mural and brewery are located at the shopping center at 110 E. MLK Drive. The artist creates under the name Key Detail, and the finished mural is truly spectacular. The second event is the Hell Ride, which is an annual event hosted by CRC Bike Club. Participants will mount bicycles, skateboards, longboards, scooters, pedicabs and unicycles (no motorcycles or cars) and ride from house party to house party where there will be local bands performing, including Attic Ted, Tetsuo, Company L,Ton of Brass Band and Window Shop. Be at Rio Vista park at 6 p.m. on Saturday with your preferred method of transportation. The event is run fully by volunteers, so financial support is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
