San Marcos fell in district action to the Converse Judson Rockets in a 55-3 loss.

The Rattlers and Head Coach John Walsh will once again look to regroup for a tough road game against the stateranked Cibolo Steele Knights.

“We showed up fighting,” Walsh said. “When you are in a season like this, that is all you can ask for. The guys in the locker room and the guys putting on the pads are still flying around and playing the game the right way.”

The Rattlers were forced to punt on their first possesion when Judson struck first. Rocket running back Caiden Walker scored from 42 yards out to give Judson the early lead.

San Marcos was unable to get the first down on their next drive before punting back to the Rockets.

Driving down to the Rattler two yard line, the Rockets scored from two yards out to extend the lead 14-0.

On their next offensive possession, the Rattlers gained the first down when quarterback Kane Hernandez found wide receiver Legend Ramirez on the eight-yard pass play to extend the drive.

Hernandez later found running back Andrew Farias for a 10-yard gain on third down to make it fourth and short. The Rattlers attempted to go for it on fourth down but a penalty pushed San Marcos back, forcing them to punt.

Judson struck again when quarterback Elijah Favela found wide receiver Jack Call for the 11-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead 21-0.

The Rattlers went three and out on their next drive and were forced to punt but the Rockets returned the punt 66 yards for the touchdown to extend their lead to 27-0 following a missed extra point.

San Marcos was unable to convert a first down on their next possession as the Rockets struck again. Favela hit Kenyon Smith for a 45-yard touchdown pass to make it a 34-0 game.

The Rattlers continued to struggle offensively, allowing Judson to score again as Graham rushed for a 57-yard score.

The Rockets tacked on another touchdown right before halftime, and San Marcos trailed 48-0 at the half.

Judson scored their final touchdown of the night. Elijah Massengale scored from 55 yards out to make it a 55-0 game.

Following the touchdown, the Rattlers found the offensive momentum they were looking for. On the first play of the drive, Farias broke free and rushed for a 51-yard gain to put the Rattlers in the redzone.

Running back Sebastian Diaz made a 10-yard rushing play to put the Rattlers inside the Judson 10 yard line before Julio Alvarddo kicked a 25yard field goal for the Rattlers only points for the game, making the final score 55-3.

As San Marcos looks to regroup, the Rattlers will face one of their toughest challenges yet.

The Rattlers will go on the road this Friday against the No. 21 Cibolo Steele Knights.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lehnhoff Stadium in Schertz.
