Randy Rogers honored for billion online streams
“Creatively we all bring something different to the table, and you can hear it in the records,” Randy Rogers has said before of the style of his band’s music. “You can hear people’s personalities in the records.”
Country, Red Dirt, Country-Rock, Americana. Whatever you want to call the genre of the Randy Rogers Band, one thing is apparent – people love the sound of the San Marcos-based band whose lead owns the legendary Cheatham Street Warehouse.
Last week at Rogers’ second musical home, Gruene Hall, the band was presented with the Pandora Billionaire Plaque. The honor commemorates more than one billion streams of the platform.
Pandora is the largest ad-supported audio entertainment streaming service in the United States.
“I want to thank Johnny Chiang and Pandora for presenting us with the Billionaire Award for over one billion streams on Pandora,” Rogers said. “Feels great to be in my first and only billionaires club. Can’t thank Pandora and the fans enough. They have been with us since the beginning and can't wait to continue sharing new music for everyone to get up and dance to.”
The Randy Rogers Band is currently taking their 20-year anniversary celebration for their critically acclaimed album, Rollercoaster, on the road to cities all over the country. However, this weekend is all about Cheatham Street, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a full weekend of concerts including music from the Randy Rogers Band and plenty more legendary acts with local connections.
