SPOOKY SQUARE AND GREAT MUSIC

The weather has cooled off enough that all the sudden it doesn’t seem so oppressive to sit outside. That means there are a lot of events going on this weekend, but tonight, we fly! I’d start out the weekend on Friday night at the Movies on the Square - Spooky Edition with what may be my wife’s favorite movie - Hocus Pocus. The cult-classic, witchy comedy will be shown at this free, family-friendly event. It even has complimentary popcorn. Bring your own chair, blanket or broomstick and lay out on the courthouse lawn. The move starts around 7:45 to 8 p.m. The rest of the weekend, when I’m not at the Texas State football game, you can find me at the Wimberiey Music Festival, which runs Saturday and Sunday with some of the best musicians around. Headlined by multi-time Grammy Award winner and Wimberiey High School graduate Sarah Jarosz, the event also features the likes of Susan Gibson, HalleyAnna Finlay, Soma Jerome and so much more. More information and tickets can be found online at wimberleymusicfest.com. This is also a fundraiser for the Barnabas Connection.
