Sagi Gabay was at the Nova Music Festival in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 when it was attacked by Hamas killing 364 people. One year later, Gabay will be in San Marcos to speak about his experiences at the Price Center on October 14 at 5:30 p.m.
Gabay attended the Nova Music Festival when it was attacked by Hamas. He and his friends ran through fields under machine gun fire for four hours. They faced a series of terrifying narrow escapes while running for about 12 miles to safety. Gabay will be introduced by Rabbi Ari Weingarten from the Chabad Jewish Center in San Marcos.
Gabay, 28, is from Rishon LeTsiyon, a city located just south of Tel Aviv in Israel. His parents are Moroccan immigrants to Israel. He has a B.A. in political science and communication and an M.A. in Diplomacy and Strategic Marketing and works as the spokesperson for a member of the Israeli security cabinet, Minister Gideon Saar. He has been working in the Israeli Parliament, called the Knesset, for three years.
The event will be a memorial and remembrance for those who died in the attacks.
