PIE DAY, HAWIIAN LUAU, AND COFFEE & CROSSWORDS
This Friday, it’s “Pie Day I’m In Love” at Roughhouse Brewing with handmade pizzas from 5 to 8 p.m. instead of their regular menu. As a devoted Cure fan and pizza-connoisseur, I’m looking forward to trying this out. Plus, as I am no longer a Goth teen circa 1992, I can actually drink beer with my pizza. Next up, on Saturday, Riley’s Tavern will host its annual Hawaiian Luau from 4 to 8 p.m. Plates cost $15 and include tender pulled pork with all the trimmings, plus music by Island Texas. Wear your favorite Hawaiian
garb and enjoy the late-September breeze on Riley’s back porch. Finally, I’m planning to wrap up the weekend on Sunday at Green Heron Bookshop, where at 11:30 a.m., we’re doing Coffee and Crosswords. Coffee and tea will be available for purchase, or you can bring your own. A $5 gift card is up for grabs for anyone who can solve the puzzle in under 20 minutes, or 15 minutes for a group of two.
