MUSIC IN THE PARK

MUSIC IN THE PARK

COMMUNITY EVENT

The city of San Marcos had plenty of fun activities for residents on Fourth of July. Summer in the Park garnered a large crowd at Plaza Park, which was entertained by Brave Combo. The band’s set ended with just enough time for the crowd to walk to the open piece of land by the San Marcos Public Library for one of the city’s biggest fireworks displays yet, which started at 9:30 p.m. This Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Summer in the Park will feature Matt Kirk and the Güefarers. According to the Summer in the Park website, “Matt Kirk and the Güeyfarers (pronounced Wayfarers) are more than just a musical group; they’re a celebration of family heritage and a fusion of diverse sounds. Led by the incomparable Matt Kirk, whose musical roots run deep thanks to his upbringing in the picturesque hill country of New Braunfels, the Güeyfarers bring a rich tapestry of influences to the stage.” To view the schedule for the rest of the summer go to summerintheparksm. org/2024-artists.
