First Tuesday SMTX invites audiences to rediscover the night sky with “The Stars at Night” on April 2 at The Price Center. A feature documentary exploring the connection between astronomy, mythology and original storytelling, “The Stars at Night” utilizes expert interviews combined with an expedition to one of North America’s last truly dark sky communities to explore the impacts of light pollution on our culture. An official selection in the 2023 Austin Film Festival, “The Stars at Night” asks audiences to consider what stories may have never been told had storytellers never seen the stars.
Director Betty Buckley and Texas State University physics professor Dr. Blagoy Rangelov will host a Q&A after the film.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Pizza from Pie Society and beer from Middleton Brewery will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. The screening will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and available online at firsttuesdaysmtx.com.
