ST. PATRICK'S DAY
P ádraig
With the state of drought recently, nobody was cursing the rain over the weekend.
While the rain made having fun a little more difficult, it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of San Marcos in the slightest for the Feast of Saint Pádraig, more commonly referred to as St. Patrick's Day. The annual St. Patrick's Day Block Party went on as scheduled at Sean Patrick's Irish Pub on the Square. Hundreds came out in their favorite shade of green to enjoy a little green beer, along with plenty of traditional Irish music. Top, Robert Eby, with SMTX Bagpipe, played some 'ceòl beag,' which is Celtic for 'light music.' Above right, Brenda Lira holds up a green beer.
Bottom right, Manny and Jerri Lopez got into the theme. Bottom left, The Ace Pepper Band got into the spirit as well. Daily Record photos by Dalton Sweat
