PARKS & MEXICAN FOOD
The San Marcos Greenbelt Alliance has been protecting natural areas in San Marcos since 1998. Their mission is easy to get behind: “SMGA's mission is to create and conserve an interconnected system of parks and natural areas for our community and future generations.”
This Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Greenbelt Alliance will be celebrating 25 years at their annual meeting held at the San Marcos Activity Center. There will be a presentation from State Representative Erin Zwiener, food provided by Industry, Root Cellar and Blue Bonnet Lions. Beer provided by Middleton Brewing, a silent auction and raffle prizes.
There will be a short business meeting to elect new board members as well as recognizing volunteers and naming the Community Partner of the Year.
On Sunday, another anniversary is being celebrated. Mana’s Restaurant is hosting a party for their 48th anniversary. Located at 807 Alabama Street, Mana’s is one of the oldest restaurants in San Marcos. Stop by from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m in Victory Gardens for some great Mexican food, live music by DJ GabeReal and booths of local vendors.
