The Bobcats are westward bound, as 11 student-athletes will compete this weekend in the 2019 NCAA Outdoor West Track and Field Preliminaries in Sacramento, California.
Thursday’s events will begin with the men’s long jump, featuring sophomore Ronnie Briscoe. The team will also see freshman Liv Hilton and junior Naomi Ferdinand in the women’s long jump, sophomore Jaylen Allen in the men’s 400 meters, senior Kyle Denomme in the men’s 800 meters and freshman Sadi Giles and senior Tramesha Hardy in the women’s 100-meter dash.
Hardy will run again on Friday in the women’s 200-meter dash. She’ll be joined by senior Kylah Smith, running in the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Sophomore Brandon Busby will also participate on day two in the men’s discus throw.
The final day of the meet will see senior T’Mond Johnson in the men’s shot put. Sophomore Noah Herring will round out the competition in the men’s triple jump.
The top 12 individuals from each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Finals, taking place in Austin on June 5-8.
