Texas State adds JUCO transfer Lillie Moore

The Bobcats made one more addition to their recruiting class.

Head coach Zenarae Antoine announced on Monday that Kansas City Kansas Community College sophomore forward Lillie Moore committed to Texas State.

Moore was productive in her final season with the Blue Devils. The Magnolia, Arkansas native averaged 14.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, assisting in the team’s 32-4 record. KCKCC closed the year out the 2019 NJCAA DII National Basketball national championship. Moore registered six points and 12 rebounds in the game.

"Lillie is a welcome addition to our Bobcat family," Antoine said in a statement. "Not many student-athletes are able to say that they competed for and won a national championship at any level. Lillie is a student-athlete that can confidently say that. She comes from a strong junior college program that is not only competitive on the basketball court but also in the classroom. She will add depth at the forward position and complement our team culture with a winning mentality on and off the floor. It is a great day to be a Bobcat!"

At 5-foot-11, the forward will and help fill the rebounding void left behind by former Texas State forward Zandra Emanuel, who led the team on the boards this year.

“First I want to thank God for blessing me to continue to do what I love,” Moore said in a statement posted on Twitter. “These past couple years of my basketball career has been a grind but the outcomes of it has grown me into a better player than ever. Just want to say thank you for my support system from family, coaches, friends, fans and many loved ones who has been nothing but encouraging in my life. Super excited to see what these next couple years has in store for me. On that note, I would like to proudly announce that I will continue my basketball career at Texas State University for the next two years!! #GoBobcats”
