Highway closure is rescheduled

Recent inclement weather caused a delay in the work scheduled to take place at the FM 110 bridge.

Recent inclement weather caused a delay in the work scheduled to take place at the FM 110 bridge.

According to officials, crews will be installing concrete for the FM 110 bridge near the San Marcos Regional Airport and to do so, will need to close State Highway 21.

The highway closure will begin at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and the highway is expected to reopen for traffic at approximately 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 25.

At right is a detour map detailing routes drivers should follow to avoid a significant delay in light of the construction.

Drivers will still be able to access the airport via Yarrington.

Drivers attempting to access from Highway 80, will be asked to follow the detour to access from the north instead.

Crews recommend that drivers alert officers onsite if they need specific access to the airport and by doing so, they should be allowed to go through.

Crews are recommending drivers use caution when navigating the construction area.
