Services for Jo Ella “Jo” (Murphy) Anders, 92, of Tyler were held on Monday, April 22, 2019 in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial followed at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Jo passed into eternal life Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Tyler. She was born July 17, 1926 in Jacksonville. She was a member of Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler and graduated from Jacksonville High School, and was a devoted minister’s wife, and mother for over 63 years of her life.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Anders in 2012.
She is survived by her loving family including her children, Sharon Terry and husband Roy of Mexico, NY, Don Anders and wife Mary of San Marcos, and Susan Nichols and husband Bill of Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Joanna Barton of Lafayette, NY, Donna Loyd and husband Dennis of San Marcos; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Bailey Barton of Lafayette, NY, Megan Pizana, Ava Pizana, Mya Pizana, and Erin Loyd all of San Marcos; niece, Sheryl Turner and husband Marcus of Tyler; nephew, Ken Murphy of Oklahoma City, OK; great-nephew, Craig Turner, wife Kerrie and children all of Celina; great-niece, Leigh Ann Turner of River Oaks; and great-nephew, Randy Turner, wife Stacy and children all of Tyler.
Pallbearers were Eric Figueroa, Less Newton, O.L. Smith, Randy Turner, Ken Murphy, and Ron Schultz. Honorary pallbearers are Marcus Turner, Rodney W. Pierce, Joe Cox, Doug Dupree, Joe O’Banon, Cliff Caskey, J.C. Tate, Roy Terry, Bill Nichols and Harry Vanscoder.
Visitation was also held on Monday at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
