Wonder World Park debuts Earth Day festivities

Mermaid Society SMTX and Wonder World Cave and Park hosted an Earth Day celebration Saturday, with environmentally friendly games and activities for families throughout the park. Bryce Clemons uses chalk to write “Have a Happy Holiday” on the ground.

Children race across the patio at Wonder World Park and Cave to see who can collect the most Easter eggs. Saturday Earth Day festivities were a first for the park.

Ann Steine helps her daughter Lyla fill an egg with environmentaly friendly confetti — made with herbs, leaves and flowers — in order to make cascarones for later.

Emelyn Gomez uses a brush to carefully paint her design onto her egg’s shell.
