Texas State University has been named among “America’s Best Employers” by Forbes magazine.

The bi-weekly business magazine listed Texas State at No. 443 in the subcategory “Best Midsize Employers.” The annual list of the 1,000 best employers in the nation includes 59 educational institutions overall. Forbes previously recognized Texas State among “America’s Best Employers” in 2017, “Best Employers for Women” in 2018 and “Best Employers for Diversity” in 2019.

For the rankings, Forbes worked with market research firm Statista to cull data from a survey of 30,000 U.S. employees. In the survey, respondents rated how likely they were to recommend their organization to family or friends on a scale from zero to 10. The survey also asked employees to recommend companies other than their own.

The “Best Employers” category includes 500 companies with more than 5,000 employees, while the “Best Midsize Employers” list focuses on 500 companies with 1,000-5,000 employees.
