Lady Rattlers open season with pair of tournament wins

San Marcos began its 2019 season over the weekend, going 2-0-2 at the Waller Classic in Houston.

The Lady Rattlers made their debut in a 0-0 tie on Thursday against Waller. Two goals from freshman Ana Barragan assisted by senior Mary Finch and sophomore Isabel Duenez earned the team its first victory on Friday, going 2-0 over Fulshear. The team tied again later in the day, finishing 0-0 with Klein Collins, but capped off the tournament Saturday with a 1-0 win over Aldine, the winning goal coming from senior Alyssa Villanueva and assisted by junior Jazlie Rodriguez.

San Marcos played its first home match Tuesday against Floresville. The match ended after press time.
