The Wimberley Players announce its third season of outdoor movies including Disney-Pixar’s animated adventure Up, rated PG, on June 4, the Baz Luhrmann musical, Moulin Rouge, rated PG-13, on June 17, and the classic favorite The Princess Bride, rated PG, on June 18.
The transformation of the Wimberley Playhouse parking lot into a walkin movie theater became a tradition in 2020. “Something magical happens when the sun begins to set,” said managing artistic director Trish Rigdon. “The always present evening breezes cool things down for a great night under the Texas sky. This season, we chose two films to appeal to families with younger children and one that would make a great date night for adults. With our outdoor concession stand stocked with all the typical movie snacks, plus beer and wine, folks of all ages will have a great time.”
