County Clerk substations to be closed on Mondays

Beginning Monday, April 15, the Hays County Clerk’s Offices in Dripping Springs, Kyle and Wimberley will be closed on Mondays. The offices will be open their current hours Tuesdays-Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Our employees are needed to support three County Courts-at-Law now with the recent addition of a third court,” County Clerk Elaine Cardenas said. “With that additional need plus training time for employees, closing the substations for one day seems to be the best way to use our limited resources.”

Substations will also begin accepting checks and cash for services, but customers must have exact change to pay with cash. The substations will continue to accept credit and debit cards (note that credit card companies typically add a processing fee).

The Clerk’s main office at the Government Center will remain open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with hours extended to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. All services are available at the substations except for plat map printing and issuance of writs, which are only available at the San Marcos location.
