Police don’t have much to go on beyond a vehicle description in trying to find the person responsible for a reported sexual assault that occurred early last Sunday.
Police responded to Central Texas Medical Center at 3:30 a.m. to meet with the victim, who reportedly had gotten into the suspect grey Jeep at a convenience store in the 300 block of North Guadalupe Street.
“They had a short conversation and left to an apartment complex near the river. While at the river the male subject assaulted the victim while she was at a point of intoxication where she could not give or withdraw consent,” police said in an email in response to a Daily Record inquiry into the incident.
The man driving the Jeep is believed to be Hispanic.
Police did not say whether the woman had undergone a Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) while at the hospital, nor identify the place on the river where the assault allegedly occurred. The Daily Record was not allowed to speak directly to police regarding the incident.
