My journey this week includes a memory from a newspaper article I read long ago.
“Matter contains only 103
chemicals.
All man’s heredity
characteristics are contained
in only 46 chromosomes.
God’s revelation to English
speaking readers utilizes only
26 letters.
A Symphony is a grouping
of only twelve musical tones.
Mathematics uses only ten
numbers
A Sunset contains only
three primary colors.
ALL computers compute on
only two signals.”
This lead to a transition to a quotation from the Bible: Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”— there is one door Jesus uses to fellowship with us.
I started reviewing the facts from this old newspaper; and in 2021, computing may have changed; more chemical elements have been discovered; new symphonies include other sounds beside tones. Alfred North Whitehead’s Principia Mathematica came whizzing through my thoughts; and the fact he was influencer for theologians who developed “process theology”— too complex for this pastor to understand!
I thought about what I know to be true: John 16:33 “ That in this world you will have trouble, ( yes, we find it all around) But take heart, I have overcome the world.” So, I close with my prayer: May the love of God outweigh all ‘logical’ rejections of who Christ Jesus is for all who stand on the inside of that door written about in Revelation 3:20 — and open it, for Him to come in and fellowship with you. May the Holy Spirit fill you with the wonderful peace that comes from a relation with God through Christ our Savior.” Amen”
