Many take the start of a new year as a chance to make improvements, break old habits or set personal or professional goals. We asked local elected officials what theirs are:

Mayor Jane Hughson: “I resolve to bring our community together in order to make San Marcos even more wonderful! Personally, I resolve to have some fun in 2019.”

Mark Rockeymoore: “I want to see my family more! Spend time with my children, father, siblings and cousins! Life is short and flies by fast!”

Saul Gonzales: “The first order of business is to eat healthier, exercise more, live life to the fullest in a Godly way, have a better prayer life, spend more time with the grandkids, don’t get the wife mad by pretending I’m listening.”

Ed Mihalkanin: ”One, lose 50 pounds; two, learn how to cook; three, work out at the gym 3 days a week. I don’t want to overdo it!”
