Janie S. Dela Rosa, 84, of San Marcos, Texas, earned her wings and was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
Our beloved Janie was born in Taylor, Texas on December 16, 1936 to Sam and Guadalupe Sepulveda. She graduated from Austin High School in 1957. After graduation, she entered the medical field working as a medical technician and X-ray technician for over 34 years.
She met the love of her life, Herbert Dela Rosa, in 1956, and they married on February 23, 1957. They were married for 64 loving years. Herb and Janie moved to San Marcos in 1965, where she worked as an X-ray technician for Gary Job Corps. In 1972, Janie and Herb ventured into the restaurant business; together they owned and operated Casa Dela Rosa for 10 years. As you would enter Casa Dela Rosa, you would be greeted by Janie’s beautiful smile and polite nature. She loved to sit with her husband and listen to music for hours, occasionally enjoying a little glass of wine. Janie will forever be remembered for her wonderful hospitality and the love she had for family and friends.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Guadalupe Sepulveda, brother Cleto Martinez, and daughter Kathleen Rene Andrada.
She is survived by her husband Herb Dela Rosa; children Sam Dela Rosa (Rita), Angela Dela Rosa Smith (Kenneth), and Keith Dela Rosa; and sister Lucille S. Zamora. She leaves behind a legacy of 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
