San Marcos Police serving a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon found the suspect hiding in a bathroom, along with a woman they say was trying to prevent his arrest.
Jason David Mojica, 39, was booked into Hays County Jail and is being held under bonds totaling $22,000.
SMPD Commander Kelly Bomersbach said in an email that when officers arrived at 409 Faris Street at 11:17 p.m. Sunday, they could see Mojica through a living room window when they knocked on the front door and “announced themselves.” He reportedly fled to a bedroom as officers continued to knock and “advised Mojica he had a felony warrant and was under arrest.”
Police then made a forced entry. Once inside, they encountered Yvonne Marie Sanchez, 41, in a bathroom and she reportedly told them Mojica had left the house and she didn’t know his whereabouts prior to them finding him hidden in the same room.
Sanchez is charged with hindering apprehension, a third degree felony, and interference with public duties, a Class B Misdemeanor. Her bonds total $7,000.
