MANOR — San Marcos’ game plan with 10 seconds remaining in Friday’s District 14-6A opener against Manor was simple.

The Rattlers, who were clinging to a 54-51 lead, would inbound the ball a couple times knowing if a tie-up occurred it would be their ball. But when the tie-up came with four seconds remaining something that head coach David Norris hasn’t seen happen in his 30 years of coaching happened – two of the referees overruled the one official who assured San Marcos it would be its ball and awarded it to the Mustangs.

SAN ANTONIO — San Marcos senior guard Sean Price, who says his shot has been struggling this season, watched an Instagram video about simply “shooting your shot” before Tuesday’s game against San Antonio McCollum.

Price’s shots were falling against the Cowboys as he scored 27 leading the Rattlers to a 62-59 win over McCollum.

“All season long I’ve been struggling from beyond the arc – really everywhere – so I just kind of went in more relaxed,” Price said.
