World Systems Builders holds workshop
The Texas Senate is set to gavel in today for the impeachment trial of state Attorney General Ken Paxton, a formal airing of corruption allegations that could lead Republican lawmakers to oust one of their own as lead lawyer for America's largest red state.
On Wednesday, Sept. 6, the city of San Marcos is hosting a kick-off event, inviting residents, property owners, business owners and interested citizens to engage in an opportunity to take a proactive role in planning the North of Campus areas.

Above, 18 balloons were set to participate in the city of Kyle's Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival, this past Friday and Saturday. Tethered rides, music, two pie-eating competitions and a baking contest were all part of the events eagerly awaited by residents and visitors. The sun was barely up over the horizon as a team of dedicated balloonists moved massive amounts of fabric out over a parched Kyle field early Friday.
At the start of the Labor Day holiday weekend Friday, a multi-car crash closed northbound and southbound lanes of I-35 in San Marcos. Police stated that two individuals died as a result. AAA estimated this would be one of the busiest travel weekends in recent memory drivers took to the roads for the unofficial end of summer.

A federal judge said Thursday he will stop a new Texas law aimed at keeping sexually explicit materials off of school library shelves on the eve of the law going into effect, according to state attorneys and lawyers for a group who sued over the proposal.
