A+ Federal Credit Union partnered with San Marcos High School in 2007 to build the first in-school credit union branch and provide hands-on financial education opportunities for students and teachers. Through the Cash-Back Checking partnership and custom Rattler debit card, the school received a check for $21,645 for its 2018 earnings. The Rattler debit card was developed by an SMHS student and is available at the San Marcos HS branch. Members who use the SMHS Rattler debit card earn up to 10 cents cash back to their own accounts and the school. A+FCU also has additional benefits for educators, including an educator mortgage loan, classroom cash loans, direct deposit, and HSA accounts.
