'Stunning' La Cima model homes part of Home Tour

HERITAGE ASSOCIATION OF SAN MARCOS
Friday, April 26, 2024

Step into the 21st Century only five minutes away from the sixth stop on the Home Tour in your motorized buggy ride to experience the master- planned community of La Cima in the Texas Hill Country, hailed by Forbes magazine as the “next great metropolis.” Spanning over 2,400 acres, La Cima offers distinct new home designs with Hill Country views by a distinguished line-up of builders. The Perry Home and the Highland Home in La Cima will be the final two homes on the 47th annual Home Tour hosted by the Heritage Association of San Marcos. While the theme of the self-guided tour is “Vintage Bungalows on Old Buggy Trails,' the two La Cima homes will be the 'show houses' that conclude this year’s home tour showing off a beautiful contemporary interior design. Unlike the other houses that close at 4 p.m. these two homes do not close until 6 p.m.

Amenities at La Cima include a resort-caliber recreation center with meeting rooms, fitness center and two swimming pools. La Cima outdoor assets will span more than 800 acres of parklands for residents including a 10-plus mile hike and bike trail, recreation fields and playscapes.

The spirit of San Marcos is endless due to its diversity and two fiercely protected rivers. The city offers outdoor recreation, fabulous restaurants, art and music venues, and unsurpassed academic offerings. Texas State University is a dominant presence.

La Cima students are served by highly regarded public schools as well as two exceptional private schools.

And if you can't make it out for the home tour, save the Date May 18. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., La Cima will be hosting an Open House of stunning model homes available from the mid-300s for viewing. The self-guided tour will feature special home buying/ builder incentives, gift bags, builder giveaways, a $500 shopping spree drawing, live music, food and beverage trucks and kid’s activities. To learn more about LaCima in San Marcos, visit lacimatx.com or follow the community on Facebook at @LaCimaSMTX.

The nostalgia of the home tour begins at the newly renovated Charles S. Cock House Museum, 400 E. Hopkins, where you will be greeted with an old-fashioned bake sale and tickets will be exchanged for a handstamp and tour materials.

Advance tickets for the Heritage Association of San Marcos Home Tour are $25 per person at heritagesanmarcos. org. Tickets will be $30 per person on the day of the tour at the Cock House. Tour includes ice cream, lemonade stand, cookies, spring cocktail and classical music. Historic buggies dot the tour with buggy rides available at only $10 per person.
