A look at the proposed utility increases

City Council approved a first reading for an increase in utility fees for residents on Tuesday. City Manager Jared Miller said that this is the first increase for most utility fees since 1991.
“It was necessary because those costs were being subsidized by other funds for other operations,” he said. “The fee that we charge for those services needs to be more reflective of the cost of providing that service.”
