It was standing room only at the Price Seniors Center on Monday night during a preview screening of Texas State University alumnis feature-length documentary Yakona. The documentary is directed by Paul Collins and Anlo Sepulveda and produced by Jillian Hall, Kevin Huffaker and Clint McCrocklin. The film shows the history of the San Marcos River from prehistoric times through the modern era through the eyes of the river itself. The Yakona team is trying to raise money to support the film as they hope to take it to film festivals such as Sundance, SXSW, Toronto and Cannes. As of press time on Tuesday, the project has raised 54 percent of its $40,000 goal ($24,871) with the campaign ending on Monday, July 8.
