Another 18-wheeler failed to negotiate the sharp turn leading into the San Marcos River crossing on County Road 266 last week.
But unlike an incident in January, the vehicle didn’t actually go into the water. Instead, a couple of its tires were over the side of the low-water crossing, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said.
Nonetheless, last week’s mishap had the road closed for some time and raised concerns that there was not adequate signage warning that the road is not intended for large vehicles.
