Singing Cadets headed to Central Texas
The Austin Texas A&M University Mother’s Club a 501(c)3, also known as Austin Aggie Moms, announced that on Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. the Texas A&M Singing Cadets will perform at the Riverbend Centre, 4214 N. Capital Of Texas Hwy, Austin.
The Singing Cadets perform a wide variety of outstanding choral music- religious, patriotic, Broadway, popular, novelty and schools songs. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a reception for prospective students and A&M representatives, Reveille Raffle Ticket sales and refreshments. The East Entrance and early seating are available for mobility-impaired guests.
This Grammy Award winning group known as the “Voice of Aggieland,” is an all-male chorus that performs approximately 70 concerts each year throughout Texas, the United States and internationally. One current member of the Singing Cadets, Joshua Simmons, is from Austin. Simmons is a geophysics major, class of ’19, in his second year in the Singing Cadets.
The concert is proudly hosted by the Austin Aggie Moms and includes the club’s annual Reveille Raffle. Special thanks go to Routh Properties and many others for their generous sponsorships. All proceeds from the concert and raffle support scholarships for Texas A&M students from the Austin area and worthy Texas A&M student organizations. The Austin Texas A&M University Mother's Club awards Merit Scholarships each year to current A&M students. These scholarships based on academic standing and involvement in A&M student organizations. The awards are not based on financial need, or affiliation with the Austin Aggie Moms. However, applicants must be from the Austin area. Austin Aggie Moms meet monthly with speakers from the university, for food, fun and fellowship and to provide support to students attending Texas A&M University.
