A Capella Unlimited qualifies for Internationals

A Cappella Unlimited, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, has qualified to participate in the Sweet Adelines International Harmony Classic Competition to be held Sept. 16-21, 2019 in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

The 19-member women’s chorus achieved this honor by winning their division in March and subsequently finishing in the top five Division A Small Chorus competitions held in each of the 24 worldwide regions that comprise the Sweet Adelines International organization.

Harmony Classic is the international competition for small (15-30) and mid-size (31-60) choruses who have earned the top five scores in their regional competitions. It is held Tuesday of the International Competition and Convention week of activities. Choruses of any size who have won their regional competitions vie for top honors on Saturday of the convention week.

A Capella Unlimited will compete in the Sweet Adelines International Harmony Classic Competition in September 2019.

A Cappella Unlimited was chartered in 2011 and competed in the Great Gulf Coast Region for the first time in the Spring of 2012. Since that time, the chorus has placed first in their division five times; additionally in 2018, the chorus received the coveted “Audience Favorite” award. 

A Cappella Unlimited members come from all over the Central Texas area from Georgetown to Boerne and Lakeway to New Braunfels to rehearse at Texas State University on Monday nights. They range in age from their 20s to their 70s.

Sweet Adelines International is the world’s largest singing organization for women with nearly 23,000 members in 24 Regions across five continents. The mission of the organization is to advance the musical art form of barbershop and a cappella harmony through education, competition and performance.
